Dress as Skirt

Do you sometimes see something so simple that you wonder why you didn't think of it?!

I've seen lots of bloggers lately wearing dresses as skirts or tops.  Why didn't I think of that?!

This red pleated dress is another from my Mum's 1970's collection.  However, for my everyday wardrobe this red dress was a "bit much".  So I added a chambray shirt and now I feel like I can wear it out in the daytime without people wondering "where is she going?".

Of course I am wearing satin bow heels, but why not?!

  2. That skirt works perfectly as a dress, and is so nice with the chambray shirt! :) I used to do the maxi skirt as a dress thing when I was younger. I used similar tricks to fold over maxi dresses and belt them to be more like strapless dresses, to change the length, so they fit my petite self, haha!

  6. Yes! I love this trick and you've styled the skirdress (as I call them) perfectly. The nice thing about wearing a dress this way is you can play with proportions as I see you've done by tying your shirt a bit higher than you might be able to do with a regular skirt if that makes sense.

    1. That makes perfect sense Beth! I didn't even think of that... or I should pretend that I'm really clever and it was totally intentional... ;-)
